Position Overview:

We're looking for a leader for our Print Shop! As the Print Shop Lead, you would be a key part of the first 12 Neighbours social enterprise, overseeing print shop operations, production and design. We are looking for someone who has strong emotional maturity, and who excels working with people. The Print Shop primarily focuses on screen-printing, so experience with screen printing would be considered a strong asset. This individual will also oversee financial reporting and will be part of directing this enterprise towards financial success.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the print shop, ensuring efficient workflow, timely production, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Train and coach team members in screen printing techniques and best practices.

  • Delegate tasks to team members while ensuring they are supported to succeed.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies, order new materials, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the print shop team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Utilize your strong screen printing experience and knowledge to produce high-quality prints.

  • Assist with the setup and operation of screen printing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies to acquire new business and achieve financial success.

  • Engage with clients to gather feedback, resolve any issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.

  • Build strong relationships with community members and local businesses to generate repeat business and promote our social mission.

  • Coordinate with designers to develop new product lines.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in production management, and screen-printing.

  • A solid understanding of the technical aspects of the print production process.

  • Interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and maintaining positive relationships.

  • Experience in managing budgets and analyzing financial reports.

  • Proficient in relevant software applications and technologies used in print production. 

  • Experience overseeing staff. 

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
     

 

Benefits & Vacation

  • As a full-time employee with a minimum of 30 hours per week, you will be eligible for the company's standard benefits package, provided by Blue Cross. Details of these benefits and the associated enrolment periods will be provided during your orientation. These benefits will begin 3 months after your hire date. 

  • You will accrue vacation at 4% of your hours worked, which can be used at your discretion upon approval from your supervisor. This is equal to two weeks vacation per year. There are an additional 16 paid personal hours.
