Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced On-Site Carpenter to join our organization. As the Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in completing construction projects within the 12 Neighbours community. This includes new tiny home builds, construction of new facilities, and other smaller projects that contribute to the development and improvement of the community. Your work will directly impact the lives of community members, providing them with safe and secure living spaces and support facilities that contribute to their journey towards stability and empowerment. This position involves construction project management, expert carpentry work, good collaboration and communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and oversee construction projects within the 12 Neighbours community, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Monitor project progress, address any issues or challenges that arise, and implement appropriate solutions.

Perform various carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, flooring, cabinetry, and finishing work, according to project specifications.

Follow construction plans, blueprints, and other technical documents.

Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to complete construction tasks with precision and quality craftsmanship.

Ensure that all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and regulations.

Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others on the job site.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program is highly desirable.

Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in residential construction projects.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.

Proficient in using a wide range of hand and power tools.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to work in compliance with established safety protocols
Benefits & Vacation

As a full-time employee with a minimum of 30 hours per week, you will be eligible for the company's standard benefits package, provided by Blue Cross. Details of these benefits and the associated enrolment periods will be provided during your orientation. These benefits will begin 3 months after your hire date.

You will accrue vacation at 4% of your hours worked, which can be used at your discretion upon approval from your supervisor. This is equal to 2 weeks vacation per calendar year. There are an additional 16 paid personal hours.
